Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director
Head of Commercial Operations
Abdullah Ahsan Saleem joined the Company in 2017 and is currently serving as the Head of Commercial Operations. He also supports in an advisory capacity, operations at Crescent Hadeed, a division of Crescent Steel. Additionally, Abdullah serves on the Board of CS Capital (Private) Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of Crescent Steel.
Mr. Saleem also carries an additional responsibility as Marketing Director for Cresguard Systems (Private) Limited.
He graduated in 2017 from Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, Malaysia, with a B.A. (Hons) in International Business Management.
His primary role at Crescent Steel is to provide leadership and guidance to his teams and ensure the smooth functioning of the Supply Chain and Marketing and Sales functions.
Business Unit Head – Cotton
Abdul Rouf joined the Company in 2000 and is currently serving as the Business Unit Head of the Cotton Division.
Prior to joining Crescent Steel, he was working with Crescent Textile and Crescent Ujala.
Mr. Rouf graduated from National Textile University, Faisalabad with a Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering.
As the BUH, he is responsible for the entire functioning of the Cotton Division across all core unit level functions both operationally and in terms of business development and positioning.
Business Unit Head – Steel
Arif Raza joined the Company in 1985 as a Graduate Trainee Engineer and is currently serving as the Business Unit Head of the Steel Division. In his tenure of more than 38 years he has held various positions including Vice President Marketing and Sales, Vice President Manufacturing and Head of Marketing and Sales.
Mr. Raza graduated in 1985 from NED University with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, he has completed a range of ancillary diploma and certificate courses.
As the BUH, he is responsible for the entire functioning of the Steel Division operations and all its core functions which include production and planning, inbound and outbound supply chain planning for the unit, unit performance, Finance, HR management etc.
Business Unit Head - Investments and Infrastructure Development Division
Hajerah Ahsan Saleem joined the Company in 2012 and is currently serving as the Group Head of Corporate Affairs, and as the Business Unit Head of the Investment and Infrastructure Development Division. Additionally, she also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of CS Capital (Private) Limited.
Prior to joining Crescent Steel in 2012, she worked at Barclays Bank PLC Pakistan and has experience of working in a Corporate Banking function with focus on relationship management, business development, and transaction banking.
Ms. Saleem graduated in 2008 from the University of Kent, United Kingdom, with a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Economics.
Her primary role at Crescent Steel includes managing portfolios of equity, commodity, and real estate investments. In addition to these responsibilities, Ms. Saleem in her role as the Group Head of Corporate Affairs is responsible for Human Resource Management, Administration, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Communications functions across all divisions and business units of Crescent Steel.
Business Unit Head – Hadeed
Hasan Altaf Saleem joined the Company in 2010 and is currently serving as the Business Unit Head of Hadeed, a division of Crescent Steel.
Prior to joining Crescent Steel in 2010, he worked at Shakarganj Food Products Limited.
Mr. Saleem graduated from LUMS with an MBA. Additionally, he has done BA – Political Science from Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia.
As the BUH, his main responsibilities include looking after the entire functioning of the Hadeed division particularly day-to-day operations, production and manufacturing of steel billets.
Head of Manufacturing
Mushtaque Ahmad joined the Company in 1985 as a Graduate Trainee Engineer and is currently serving as Head of Manufacturing. Additionally, he also serves as Management Representative for effective and efficient operations and improvement of the Quality Management System. In his tenure of more than 38 years he has held various positions including Manager Coating Plant, Manager Engineering Services and Vice President Manufacturing.
Mr. Ahmad is a graduate of NED University with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, he has completed a range of ancillary diploma and certificate courses.
As the HOM, his major responsibilities include running the day-to-day functions of the Steel Division’s manufacturing units, as well as all relevant functions, both, operationally and in terms of business development and positioning.
Chief Financial Officer
Muhammad Saad Thaniana joined the Company in 2007 and is currently serving as Group Chief Financial Officer.
Additionally, he is also listed as a Director at CS Capital (Private) Limited, Shakarganj Food Products Limited and Solution de Energy (Private) Limited.
He has over 30 years of experience and prior to joining Crescent Steel in 2007, he worked at BOC Group as Regional Head Internal Audit.
Mr. Thaniana is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Management Accountant, and has also been awarded the Irtiza Gold Medal for outstanding performance in the final examination of Corporate Law and Secretarial Practices by Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
In his role as the Chief Financial Officer he is responsible for overviewing and providing leadership and guidance to the treasury, taxation, payroll, reporting and consolidation function of the Finance department.
